Woman Killed, 3 Hurt In Christmas Night PA Highway Crash
A N.J. woman died after being struck on Christmas on the shoulder of I-78, the second in a pair of crashes injuring 3 others, police say.

A N.J. woman died after being struck on Christmas on the shoulder of I-78 in Pennsylvania, the second in a pair of crashes injuring three other people, according to police.
Tara Marie Slamon, 29, suffered fatal blunt force injuries in the crash at about 8:45 p.m., according nj.com.
The accident occurred in Lower Macungie Township, Pa. between Routes 222 and 309, and the Hamilton, N.J. woman was pronounced dead at 2:40 a.m. at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Salisbury Township, according to nj.com.

Slamon was driving a 2004 Honda Accord, heading east and merging into the left lane when the vehicle hit the concrete center median, according to the report.
Slamon’s vehicle came to a final rest in the left lane of travel, facing west, at mile marker 54. Slamon and her passenger, 33-year-old Joseph Rivera of Hamilton, N.J. then exited the vehicle, according to WFMZ-TV.

According to a state police press release:
A 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by 46-year-old Shawn Fariello of Easton, stopped on the right shoulder of the interstate to help. A 2005 GMC Envoy, driven by a 71-year-old Saylorsburg man, was traveling eastbound in the left lane when it then struck Slamon’s vehicle.
During the collision, Salmon herself was also hit. The Envoy continued to travel across the right lane, striking the right guard rail and impacting the Jeep Cherokee parked on the shoulder.
Fariello and his passenger, 46-year-old Tara Fariello of Easton, were also struck by the Envoy. There’s currently no word on their conditions and Rivera’s condition, according to the reports. All three were brought to a nearby hospital.
