Art Quilts: An Introduction for Art Lovers + Collectors with Meg Cox

Art Quilts: An Introduction for Art Lovers + Collectors with Meg Cox

Phillips' Mill presents a special evening with celebrated arts journalist, author, and quilt expert Meg Cox, a former culture reporter for 17 years at The Wall Street Journal. In her visually rich presentation, Meg will cover the history of art quilts and the people and institutions that collect them. She will share tips from prominent collectors and examples of works by pioneering art quilters and current rising stars. These are not your traditional bed quilts!

Meg serves on the Exhibitions Committee of the International Quilt Museum, is a past president of the nonprofit Quilt Alliance, is a staff writer for Quiltfolk magazine and author of multiple books including The Quilter’s Catalog: A Comprehensive Resource Guide. She writes the wildly popular monthly newsletter, Quilt Journalist Tells All.

Before and after the event, browse the Mill’s newest exhibition, "Art Quilters Celebrate Independence," featuring 39 art quilts celebrating America’s 250th anniversary by artists of Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA) of Pennsylvania, many of which are for sale.

November 17, 2026 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets: $20 general admission, $10 for Phillips' Mill Members. Purchase tickets and learn more about the exhibition at phillipsmill.org.
