Beware Of Undetonated Explosive Devices, Bucks Co. DA Warns
The warning comes "in light of developments" in an ongoing investigation into a series of explosions in Upper Bucks County.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Officials are warning local residents to be cautious of suspicious devices "in light of developments" in an ongoing investigation into a series of explosions in Upper Bucks County. The warning, which District Attorney Matthew D. Weintraub described as "more an FYI than an SOS," comes after investigators learned some devices deployed by a Milford Township couple may have failed to explode and could still be live.
Charged in the case are David W. Surman Jr. and his girlfriend and co-conspirator Tina May Smith.
“As always, our number one priority is to make sure everyone in Bucks County is safe, and we are sharing this information with that priority in mind,” Weintraub said. He said there have been no reports of explosions related to the investigation since Surman’s June 28 arrest.

Pennsylvania State Police, the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the FBI, continue their search for all explosives crafted and distributed by Surman and Smith, officials said.
Both are facing "a long list" of criminal charges stemming from the reoccurring blasts that terrorized local residents last spring. Law enforcement from early April to late June received about 30 reports of explosions, many of which occurred within a few miles of the couple’s home in the 2400 block of North Old Bethlehem Pike in Milford Township, officials said.

The District Attorney has released photos to help residents understand what to look for. Anyone who believes they may have found such a device is advised to call 911. "Do not approach or attempt to handle these objects, as they are capable of causing injury if detonated," the DA warned.
