Prank Call Prompts Large Police, SWAT Response In New Hope
After an hours-long investigation on Ferry Street in New Hope Sunday night, authorities determined the call was a hoax.

NEW HOPE, PA — A massive police and SWAT response in New Hope on Sunday evening was prompted by an anonymous phone call that turned out to be a hoax, authorities confirmed.
After an hours-long police investigation on Ferry Street, police determined there was no threat. The call that prompted the investigation was a hoax from someone using a blocked number, officials said.
The Bucks County Radio Room received the call just before 5 p.m. The person claimed to have barricaded himself in an apartment on West Ferry Street in New Hope. Authorities from multiple jurisdictions responded to the area and nearby residents were asked to shelter in place.

No victims were located and the anonymous call was later determined to be a prank. Police cleared the scene just before 9 p.m. An investigation into the identity of the caller is ongoing, authorities said.
The massive police response closed roads and caused the Logan Inn to be evacuated.
