Red-Tailed Hawk Rescued By Solebury Police Recovering At AARK
The distressed bird was found face down on River Road and was transported by police to the AARK Wildlife Center for care.

SOLEBURY TOWNSHIP, PA — A red-tailed hawk, which the Solebury Township Police Department rescued from River Road last Friday, is continuing to recover at the AARK Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center in New Britain Township.
Police found the distressed hawk on River Road near the Delaware Quarry, just south of Lumbertville. The bird was face down on the roadway and appeared to be soaking wet.
The department's wild animal wrangler transported the hawk to the AARK Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center, where its condition was "somewhat stable" with a full recovery "not yet certain."

The police department expressed gratitude to the motorists who reported the distressed bird and to the staff at AARK for their care.

On Wednesday, the department reported that the hawk's condition continues to improve. Staff at the AARK reported that the bird's appetite had improved and he was spending time in an outside flight pen. The hawk is described as being "quite feisty," according to the AARK.
