Council Rock South National Merit Scholarship Competitors

Council Rock School District Proudly Announces its National Merit Scholarship Commended Students and Semifinalists

The National Merit® Scholarship Program is an academic competition for recognition and scholarship that began in 1955. High school students enter the National Merit Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®)—which serves as an initial screen of approximately 1.6 million entrants each year. Of the 1.6 million entrants, some 50,000 qualify as either a Commended Student or Semifinalist. Approximately 15,000 Semifinalists advance to Finalist standing. Ultimately 7,500 Finalists go on to receive a coveted National Merit Scholarship which range in monetary value and giving structure. Congratulations to all of our students who achieved an illustrious National Merit Competition status to date. (information taken from nationalmerit.org)
