Former Council Rock Teacher Had Sexual Relationship With Student: Police
Breaking: Jesse Oberto, 37, had a sexual relationship with a Council Rock student in 2015 through 2016, police allege.

A former Council Rock North High School teacher was arrested today on charges he had a sexual relationship with a student, Newtown Township Police said. Jesse Oberto, 37, had a sexual relationship with a student in 2015 through 2016, police allege.
Police said he also had inappropriate communications with a sixteen year old female student from Council Rock North.
Oberto was a math teacher, according to theschool website.

The district released the following statement on the matter:
"Mr. Oberto worked as a teacher for the school district from August, 2003 through September, 2015. The District was not notified of or aware of the alleged relationship between Mr. Oberto and our student until June of this year when the authorities requested the District’s cooperation with the investigation. Council Rock has cooperated fully with local police and will continue to do so. Our students’ safety and welfare is our highest priority and we are shocked and disturbed to learn of these allegations."

Oberto was arraigned before Judge Petrucci. He is charged with Institutional Sexual Assault, Unlawful Contact with a Minor and Corruption Of Minors. Bail was set at $100,000 unsecured.
According to the popular RateMyTeachers.com website, Obero had a laid-back, relaxed presence in the classroom. One student who posted in his RateMyTeachers.com profile called him "the chillest teacher in the whole school."
Another student said Oberto was "probably the most laid back teacher ever, almost to the point where it might be annoying."
