Four Unclaimed Veterans To Be Laid To Rest At Washington Crossing
The wife of a veteran will also be remembered during the April Unattended Ceremony in Upper Makefield.

UPPER MAKEFIELD, PA — Four unclaimed veterans and the unclaimed wife of a veteran will be given full military honors during an Unattended Veterans Service at Washington Crossing National Cemetery on Thursday, April 27.
An Unattended Service is held once a month at the cemetery for veterans who have passed away and have no relatives, living or deceased, who will be in attendance.
The public and the clergy are invited to attend to show their thanks for the service rendered to the nation. The ceremony takes place at 830 Highland Road, Newtown 18940 on Thursday, April 27 beginning at 2 p.m.

The ceremony is being held jointly between the Bucks County and Montgomery County coroner's offices. Together, the coroner’s offices will be interring four unclaimed veterans and the unclaimed wife of a veteran with full military honors.

- William Bauer, U.S. Army Specialist (Vietnam War era), from Warminster Township who passed away in 2023 in Montgomery County.
- Amelia Emma Caro, wife of a World War II veteran from Bristol Township, who passed away in 2013 in Bucks County.
- John Campbell Morgan, U.S. Navy Yeoman Seaman Recruit (Vietnam era), from Warrington Township, who passed away in 2013 in Bucks County.
- William Strauss, U.S. Army Private First Class (Korean War era), from Springfield Township, who passed away in 2012 in Bucks County)
- Leonard Wilson, U.S. Army Recruit (Korean War era), from Middletown Township, who passed away in 2012 in Bucks County.
During the ceremony, the names of the deceased will be read and the Pennsylvania Military Honors team will present the flag on the behalf of the veterans. A rifle salute and live Taps will be provided. After the ceremony, the veterans and veteran’s wife will each be placed in their own niche in the columbarium, which will be engraved with the words “Proudly Served” and “Loving Wife.”
