GNEC and area organizations sponsor Breakfast With Santa

The Greater Newtown Exchange Club and other organizations sponsored a December 2 Breakfast With Santa event at the Washington Crossing Inn

On Saturday morning, December 2nd, 140 deserving children brought their appetites and their Christmas wishes to the Washington Crossing Inn for the annual Breakfast with Santa event. This year’s event was funded and/or hosted by the Greater Newtown Exchange Club, Newtown Lions, Washington Crossing Kiwanis, Knights of Pythias, Newtown Rotary, Newtown Presbyterian Church, Upper Makefield Business and Fire Department and representatives of the Council Rock Schools. Breakfast for the children and accompanying adults was graciously provided by the Washington Crossing Inn.

The children anxiously awaited the thrilling arrival of Santa, on a siren-blaring Upper Makefield Fire Department engine with members of Bikers Against Child Abuse of Bucks County acting as reindeer. Once Santa arrived, each child was treated to a session on the Jolly Elf’s lap and a gaily-wrapped Christmas present. The presents were donated by the above community organizations and wrapped by age and gender so that each child received something they could call their own.

The Greater Newtown Exchange Club is a Bucks County service club dedicated to the prevention of child abuse and family services. For further information about Breakfast with Santa or other club-sponsored events, leave a message at GNEC’s 215-469-1466 call box, access their Facebook page or check out their website at www.greaternewtownexchangeclub.org.
