Head Out to Potential Inc.'s 4th Annual Car Show for Autism
Potential's Family-Friendly Event on Saturday, June 8, Has New Venue at Bucks County Community College
Rows and rows of polished cars, and a community that deeply cares about children and adults with autism is the perfect combination for Potential, Inc., which is holding its 4th Annual Car Show for Autism on Saturday, June 8, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The 2019 Car Show, hosted by Potential, Inc., a local nonprofit that provides autism treatment, will be held at a larger venue this year, Bucks County Community College (Newtown campus – 275 Swamp Road) on Saturday, June 8th.
The car show has grown during the past few years and become a great way to support the local autism community. Moving to the Bucks County Community College means there is a much larger space with an asphalt surface, which car owners prefer, a low-priced snack stand, and improved flow for attendees.

This is the perfect opportunity for classic car enthusiasts, local parents, teachers, and community members, to get together to raise money for high-quality educational opportunities and cutting-edge services to children and adults with autism.
The car show will be awarding a new trophy this year to the car or bike club exhibiting the most vehicles. Participants are encouraged to register early.

Potential Inc. Founder Kristine Quinby is particularly excited that the upcoming Car Show is the perfect fundraising opportunity for fundraising.
There are 140 children on Potential’s waiting list, some who have been there for as long as two years. “We are going to raise money to end the wait list for approximately 12 kids,” Quinby said.
What does the Car Show mean to Potential and the community? “It means that kids who need treatment will be able to get treatment. Imagine knowing that there is something out there that will help your child, but no one can provide it,” Quinby said. “We want to help those children and their families.”
“In addition,” explained Quinby, “we have looked at every aspect of the car show to improve the experience for everyone involved -- from the car and bike guys to the volunteers and families who attend, everyone should have a great time this year.”
Although children come off the wait-list and begin services, the list continues to grow every day because the demand for services continues to grow. “This is why we desperately need support,” explained Potential Development Assistant Hillary Sawyer, “so we can continue to make an impact by providing treatment to children and impacting their family.”
This is a fun family-friendly event. There is entertainment, a variety of food items and many children’s activities, including a DJ, face painting, balloon art, and more. There will be a demonstration from Action Karate, a minion from Despicable Me from Great Clips of Newtown, and a variety of “Touch a Truck” exhibitors, including World War II vehicles.
“We are so excited to be at Bucks County Community College this year,” Quinby said. “The space is a great opportunity for us to continue to grow and it is a space for our vendors and sponsors to have greater visibility.”
The event will have an expanded snack stand this year with hot dogs, nachos, soft pretzels, slushy, cotton candy and much more!
Potential has been so fortunate to receive an outpouring of support from the community, and appreciates the involvement from the planning committee volunteers to make the upcoming Car Show bigger and better.
“We pride ourselves in putting together a family-friendly event that is fun for everyone,” said Quinby, “while educating our community how important early autism intervention services are for children and their families.”
