'Hurricane' Schwartz: I'm Truly Concerned About Hermine This Weekend
The Philadelphia meteorologist tells residents to avoid the shore, or leave by Saturday night at the latest due to tropical storm Hermine.

As Tropical Storm Hermine makes its way to the region, local meteorologists are warning Pennsylvania residents to avoid this shore this holiday weekend.
Hermine - which could turn into a hurricane by the time it gets to coastal New Jersey - is currently packing up to 60 mph winds. The impacts will likely be felt beyond the Shore. According to the National Weather Service forecast, Tropical storm conditions can be expected Sunday, Monday and even Tuesday in Eastern Pennsylvania, where Hermine could produce heavy rain and gusty winds.
In New Jersey, the NWS has issued either a tropical storm warning, a tropical storm watch or a hazardous weather outlook for the entire state, saying the storm will impact almost all of New Jersey from Saturday into Tuesday.

Local forecasters, including 'Hurricane' Glenn Schwartz of NBC 10, is advising people to avoid going to the Shore during the last summer holiday weekend of the season.
"Stay home if you’re already inland. If you must go to the Shore, plan on coming back Saturday night at the latest," Schwartz writes in a column posted on Philly.com. He says he is "truly concerned about this weekend."

People who live at the shore should prepare to "hunker down for a few days," Schwartz writes.
Sam DeAlba, a meteorologist at WeatherWorks in Hackettstown, told nj.com that areas that saw flooding during Sandy are likely to see flooding again and "we're preparing our clients for potentially four feet or more of storm surge."
Lance Franck, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service's regional forecast office in Mount Holly, also told the publication that the storm could stall and strengthen back into a hurricane once it gets to the New Jersey area "given it's over the warm water."
