Investigation Continues Into Sunday Armed Robbery At CVS

Newtown Borough police are working with police departments in Montgomery County that are investigating similar incidents.

Newtown Borough Police continue to investigate a Sunday morning armed robbery at the CVS on S. Lincoln Avenue.

According to police, officers were dispatched to the pharmacy at 7:30 a.m. for a report of a robbery.

The employee told officers that a man came into the store and they asked if he needed assistance. As the employee approached the counter, another male entered the store displaying a handgun, police said.

The two males then took the employee into the office at gunpoint and forced the employee to open the safe, police said.

The men took the employee’s cell phone and contents of the safe, police said. The employee remained in the office unaware if the suspects had left the business. They escaped with an undisclosed amount of money and the cell phone, according to police.

There were no other customers in the store at the time and no one was injured, police said.

Police say the suspects are described as:

Subject 1: Tall black male wearing a brown shirt and dark pants.

Subject 2: short black male with a baseball cap, black jacket and dark pants.
