Man Stole Car From Newtown Residence, Abandoned It In NJ: Police

A 21-year-old man stole a car from a Newtown Township residence and abandoned it in New Jersey, according to local police.

A 21-year-old man stole a car from a Newtown Township residence and abandoned it in New Jersey, according to local police.

Angel P. Davis, who has no fixed address, has been charged in connection with the April 20 car thefton Northrup Court. The victim told police he looked out of his window and saw his car, a white 2007 Nissan Altima, being driven away. Officers received reports thefts from unlocked vehicles that had occurred that same night in the immediate area.

The car was recovered on May 25 in Old Bridge Township, N.J., where another vehicle had been reported stolen weeks prior. That additional stolen vehicle was then located in Hamilton Township, N.J.

Newtown Township Detectives, with the assistance of law enforcement in New Jersey, interviewed Davis in connection with the theft from Northrup Court. During that interview, Davis admitted to his involvement in the theft of the vehicle, as well as several additional thefts and attempted thefts from unlocked vehicles in the area.

An arrest warrant was obtained for Davis on charges of Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Theft From a Motor Vehicle, Receiving Stolen Property, & Loitering and Prowling at Nighttime.

The warrant will remain active until Davis can be extradited to Pennsylvania for prosecution, police said.
