Newtown Police Officer Receives DUI 'Top Gun' Award

A Newtown Township police officer is one of two in Bucks County to receive the Pennsylvania DUI Association’s 2014 DUI Top Gun Award.

Officer Daniel Bartle received the award, which recognizes officers who have a demonstrated commitment to DUI enforcement.
The Newtown Township Police Department shared news of the award on its Facebook page. It offered the following description of the award, provided by the Pennsylvania DUI Association:

“We expect a great deal from our law enforcement officers. We ask them to be a counselor, teacher, medical technician, social worker, psychologist, mentor and negotiator, and then we expect them to enforce the laws. Law enforcement officers in Pennsylvania deserve a thank you for the work in reducing the threat of impaired drivers on our roadways. It is with this intent that the PA DUI Association has developed and offers this award to police officers that have a demonstrated commitment to DUI enforcement.”
