Police Investigating Bank Fraud, Identity Theft Cases In Newtown Township

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Two Newtown Township residents reported separate incidents of fraud and identity theft to police during the week of April 24 to 30.

On April 25 at approximately 9:45 a.m., a Newtown Township resident contacted police to report fraudulent transactions from his savings accounts. According to police, the incident was documented and the resident was advised to contact his banks, credit card companies, and credit bureaus to monitor his accounts.

A second report came in on April 29 at approximately 4:05 p.m. In that case, a Newtown Township resident contacted police to report identity theft. According to police, the incident was documented and the resident was advised to contact her banks, credit card companies, and credit bureaus to monitor her accounts.

Anyone who notices unauthorized transactions or signs of identity theft should contact the police in addition to monitoring their bank accounts, credit card transactions, and credit bureaus.
