For this special day, the usual Quaker meeting for worship gathering in silent expectation will be held at 10:00 a.m. The service at 11 o’clock will be a “programmed service” sponsored by the Children’s Religious Education Committee. This special celebration will feature poetry, singing, live music and the retelling of the traditional Christmas story by the children. Debbie Watts, Director of Music at the Hun School in Princeton, a resident of Newtown and member of Newtown Quaker Meeting, will lead the young musicians.

Sarah Buxton of Newtown, Clerk of the Children’s Education Committee, said, “The Christmas celebration is a favorite for all of us. It is full of optimism, excitement and cheer. It is the perfect way to kick off the Christmas season. The little ones are always so inspiring as they recite the Christmas story."
