Newtown's Newest Restaurant Sets Grand Opening Date

An opening date has been announced for Greystone Fine Food and Spirits. It will operate at the former Lavender Hall on Washington Xing Rd.

Greystone Fine Food and Spirits, a new restaurant opening at the property formerly known as Lavender Hall on Washington Crossing Road, has announced its opening date.

The restaurant will celebrate its grand opening on Thursday, April 12, restaurant representatives have confirmed to Patch.

The new establishment is owned by Brandon Smith, who for several months has been working to renovate the space. It will debut next month as a full-service restaurant with space for private parties. The menu will have a blend of classic and modern dishes, he told Patch.

Smith is a former manager at TJ Smiths in Warrington, as well as Friends Bar and Grill in Newtown, which is owned by his brother.

Smith, who purchased the property last summer, has redesigned the interior of the building to give it a modern look that maintains the historic charm. The building was also recently known as 552 Restaurant.

Greystone Fine Food and Spirits is one of many exciting new additions to the Newtown dining scene. A new steakhouse recently began operating out of the Brick Hotel, Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar opened last month, and Turning Point has announced plans for an upcoming location in Newtown. Also, a new Indian restaurant is slated to open at the Village at Newtown South Shopping Center.

With the openings have come closures, however. The Saloon, located on Sycamore Street, closed for good last weekend.
