The heaviest snow is expected to fall until 12 noon. Snow rates up to 2 inches per hour are possible during that time. Snow should end this afternoon. It will be a wet snow, which will stick to trees and power lines. Power outages are possible.
Some parts of the region have already reported more than four inches as of Thursday morning, with even higher accumulations reported in the Lehigh Valley. The National Weather Service predicts a total of 6 to 12 inches could fall during the course of the storm.

The heavy snow will cause poor visibilities. That, coupled with dropping temperatures, will make travel dangerous, forecasters say.
Significant impacts have already been reported on the roads and with public transit. Air travel has also been significantly impacted. Delays and impacts may continue into Thursday night as below freezing temperatures are expected to continue.
Speed limits were reduced on several Pennsylvania highways early Thursday, however, by 10 a.m. PennDOT announced the restrictions were lifted.
"PennDOT is continuing to treat roadways in the area and will continue until roads are clear," the agency said in an announcement.
