Breastfeeding Photo, Preparing for the Pope and Pa. Ashley Madison Affairs: August 2015 on Patch

We are presenting our “12 days of 2015 on Patch” by looking at Pennsylvania Patch’s top 10 stories of each month in 2015.

During August, communities prepared for the Pope’s visit, a breastfeeding photo got everyone talking and an aspiring singer died in a wreck following her successful “American Idol” audition.

Pennsylvania has three of the 25 most dangerous neighborhoods in the country, data released in August shows.

6. 21 Pennsylvania High Schools Land On Newsweek’s Best In America List (August 23)

In August, Newsweek released its annual list of the top public high schools in America for 2015.

7. Aspiring Singer Dies Right After Successful ‘American Idol’ Audition (August 4)

Natasha Bellott had a winning ticket in her pocket when she died in a car crash in Bucks County. She was headed home to surprise her family.

8. Three Pa. Colleges Named Top Party Schools (August 4)

The Princeton Review released its annual list of the top party schools in America, and three Pennsylvania schools made the top 20.

9. Little League World Series 2015: Pennsylvania’s 352 v. Texas’ 100,000 (August 28)

Compared with their competition, Red Land would seem to be a little fish in a big ocean -- and an ocean that had only big fish remaining.

10. Three Pennsylvania Towns Among Time’s ‘Best Places To Live In 2015 (August 22)

Time Magazine released its list of the Best Places to Live in 2015 and three Pennsylvania towns cracked the top 50.
