Storm Causes Travel Nightmare In Newtown
Road conditions in Newtown were poor Thursday and authorities warned residents to stay home.

NEWTOWN, PA — Road conditions in Newtown and the surrounding communities were very poor due to Thursday's snow, causing authorities to warn residents to stay home. As a result of the conditions, the previously scheduled Council Rock School Board meeting on redistricting was canceled, the district announced.

The Newtown Fire Association reported crashed cars, disabled vehicles, and blocked and closed roads throughout the area. "If you’re not on the road stay off of them!!!!!!," a 3 p.m. Facebook post said.

Residents reported extreme delays along the Newtown Bypass.
In Upper Makefield, Police said Eagle Road is particularly perilous. The department shared this image from the scene:

Langhorne Police tweeted there are "crashes galore" and advised residents to "stay home."
In Doylestown, drivers on Rt. 611 reported very poor conditions, with extremely slow travel and disabled cars across the roadway. The following image shows the scene:

In Buckingham, there are "accidents and disabled cars off the road across the Township," police said in a tweet. "Use extreme caution on the roads and always travel at a safe speed."
A Winter Weather Advisory was in place through 9 p.m.
