Newtown Holiday Parade Is Sunday
The parade, organized by the Newtown Business Association and sponsored by McCaffrey's, starts at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Stocking Works.

The parade, organized by the Newtown Business Association and sponsored by McCaffrey’s, starts at 2 p.m. at the Stocking Works on South State Street.

From there, it goes north to Washington Avenue and makes a left turn, then turns right onto Sycamore Street. The parade ends at the corner of Sycamore Street and Durham Road by the Green Parrot restaurant.
The event features community groups, holiday floats, music, an appearance by Santa and more.

Participants will be awarded based on the following categories: Best Theme-Float (F), Best Theme-Walking Group (WG), Best Decorated (F), Most Creative (F), Most Creative (WG) Best Small Group, Best Musical Group, Crowd Favorite, Best Spirit, and Best Overall.
