These Are Newtown's Best Auto Repair Shops, New Analysis Says

NEWTOWN, PA — Finding a good mechanic can save you money and time.

A new analysis by the nonprofit Delaware Valley Consumers' Checkbook looks at more than 380 auto repair shops in the region, including three in Newtown, to determine which offer the best service based on price and quality.

The following Newtown shops were included in the analysis: Creighton Auto Repair (Newtown Richboro Road), Kerrigan's Sunoco (Washington Avenue), and Vince's Auto Service (Walnut Avenue).

Checkbook's evaluations of hundreds of shops in the Delaware Valley area include its ratings for quality and price. Its ratings are based on more than 8,500 reviews by local consumers, consumer agency complaint records, more than 1,500 price checks by its undercover shoppers, and other sources.

According to the researchers at Checkbook, Kerrigan's ranks highest for quality and its prices were about average. Creighton received an endorsement for price, coming in 12 percent lower than its competitors. Over at Vince's, locals chimed in to provide feedback for the study: "Vince is great. Both he and his service staff know their customers by name," the customer said, according to the study.
