Trick-or-Treat In Newtown Borough Will Be Oct. 31, Council Says

Since Halloween falls on a Monday this year, many towns are moving trick-or-treat festivities. That is not the case in Newtown.

Halloween trick-or-treating will be Oct. 31 in Newtown Borough.

Wednesday's Newtown Borough Council meeting agenda included an item for a discussion about the local trick-or-treat date. But Borough Council took no action to change the festivities, Mayor Charles Swartz told Patch.

Since Halloween falls on a Monday this year, some towns are moving trick-or-treat celebrations to the weekend before. That is not the case in Newtown.

Don't worry: if you're anxious to get the Halloween celebrations started, there will be plenty of other opportunities around town earlier in the month.

The annual Newtown Halloween Art Scene event is Oct. 22 on State and Sycamore streets. There will be window painting, a pet parade, and a cupcake contest. Click here for more information.
