NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — A 32-year-old woman has been charged in connection with a DUI crash in Newtown Grant that residents said caused extensive damage to cars and a home. The crash happened shortly before 3 a.m. on Aug. 6 in the area of Sequoia Drive, police said.
Police said the driver, Aliana Mary Homyn of Newtown, was not able to successfully perform field sobriety tests at the scene and subsequently was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI. She was formally charged with DUI on Aug. 20, court documents show.
Her BAC was above .16 at the time of the crash, police said in the charging documents.

A neighbor who contacted Patch following the crash provided photos of the damage. Newtown Grant resident Ashley Gibbs said the incident damaged three cars, a road sign, and even caused some damage to his home.
"There are a number of families with children on our block alone," Gibbs said. He noted in an email to Patch that had his vehicle not been parked where it was, "the driver would have ended up in our children's playroom and likely further INSIDE the residence."
