MACBETH by William Shakespeare

The Barn Playhouse is a community theater located at the corner of Rittenhouse Blvd. and Christopher Street in Jeffersonville, PA (3 miles west of Norristown).  The theater has been active since 1934 and has performed a series of theatrical productions each year since 1937.

In October, the theater will present William Shakespeare's tragedy MACBETH.  Performances begin October 7 and run through October 16.  Friday and Saturday performances begin at 8:00 pm, Sundays at 2:00 pm, and Thursdays at 7:30 pm.

Shakespeare’s brooding tragedy of ambition, temptation, and treachery digs directly into the dark recesses of man’s inner conflict.  The mysterious visions of three witches send Macbeth and his lady on a murderous rampage toward the Scottish Throne.  Attaining their goal, however, brings no glory and sends both on a downward spiral of suspicion and madness.  Fresh horrors, ghostly apparitions, and gruesome predictions result, providing a sinister backdrop for this savage political thriller.
