Kathleen Kane Sent To Rehab After Latest Arrest
The former Pennsylvania attorney general has been sentenced for her latest brush with the law.

NORRISTOWN, PA — Kathleen Kane, the former Pennsylvania Attorney General once thought to be a future stalwart in the Democratic Party, was sentenced to rehab Monday following another run in with the law, according to court records and media reports.
Kane, 55, was also sentenced to two months to year behind bars, but was given credit for time served, court documents show.
The sentencing in Montgomery County Court comes after she drove under the influence and crashed her car in Scranton in late March, authorities said.

The Associated Press reports Kane was sent directly to a residential treatment center for alcohol use on Monday. She was also sentenced to three years probation.
“She’s been humbled by this experience, and I believe that she won’t be back here again,” Kane's lawyer Marc Steinberg told AP.

Kane was originally convicted back in 2016 of leaking secret grand jury information to the news media in order to get back at a political rival and then lying about her actions under oath.
She served as attorney general from 2013 to 2016.
