Montco To Relocate, Rededicate 9/11 Memorial

A special ceremony on Sept. 11 will pay tribute to those who died 20 years ago, as well as frontline responders to the pandemic.

NORRISTOWN, PA — With the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks looming days away, officials in Montgomery County are planning a rededication ceremony for a local monument.

The event will be held at the Montgomery County 9/11 Memorial at its new location, the County's Emergency Operations Center in Eagleville, at 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 11. Following the ceremony, the county's Public Safety Appreciation Day will take place, including a BBQ, corn hole tournament, 5k run, kids fun run, and more.

In addition to honoring victims of the 9/11 attacks, the ceremony will also pay tribute to frontline responders to the COVID-19 pandemic, organizers said.
