10 Traffic Accidents, Other Incidents Lead Northampton Police Report

Police responded to the following calls between March 25 and March 31 in Northampton Township.

RICHBORO, PA — The Northampton Township Police Department responded to the following calls between March 25 and March 31.

During the tour, patrol handled 19 alarm calls; 15 abandoned 911 calls; 32 medical emergencies; eight bookings; one domestic dispute; six civil disputes; 62 traffic monitoring details; and five crime prevention details.

  • Traffic Accident: Patrol responded to the area of Holland Road and Buck Road for a traffic accident. Both unit 1 and unit 2 were stopped on Holland Road at Buck Road for traffic signal. The light changed and unit 1 rolled back into unit 2. Tow was not required.
  • Fraud/Scam: Complainant received a phone call from an individual regarding their medical insurance. The individual requested personal information and the complainant found that the call was a scam. The phone call was terminated. Disabled Vehicle Patrol found a disabled vehicle blocking East Holland Road at Holland Road. Contact was made with the driver who reported a mechanical issue. The vehicle was able to be repaired and the roadway was reopened.
  • Theft (Bicycle): Patrol responded to the area of Penn Circle for a theft of a bicycle. While investigating this incident, patrol was able to locate the bicycle in a neighborhood nearby.

  • Suspicious Person: At approximately 12:47 a.m., patrol observed an individual on East Village Road wearing all black clothing. The individual was recognized by patrol, and they were just walking home.
  • Assist Other PD: Patrol responded to the area of Bridgetown Pike and Old Bristol Road Drive for a traffic accident. The traffic accident occurred in Lower Southampton. Patrol assisted Lower Southampton Police.
  • Traffic Accident: Patrol responded to Elm Avenue for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was traveling on Elm Avenue when they attempted to avoid striking an animal. Unit 1 avoided the animal and struck a utility pole. No tow was required.
  • Fires: Patrol responded to North Kitty Knight Drive for a fire. While the HVAC unit was being worked on at the house, a fire started. The Northampton Township Fire Department arrived on scene and the fire was extinguished.
  • Traffic Accident: Patrol responded to the intersection of Buck Road and Chinquapin Road for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was traveling on Chinquapin Road and went to enter onto Buck Road. While doing so, unit 1 made contact with unit 2 which was traveling southbound on Buck Road. Tow was required.

March 27

  • Road/Traffic Hazard: Patrol responded to the area of New Road and Lindley Road for the report of a tree on the roadway. Once on location, patrol located a large branch and debris on the road. Patrol was able to clear the roadway.
  • Gas Leaks: Patrol responded to the area of Schan Drive for the report of an odor of natural gas in the area. The Northampton Township Fire Department responded as well, and the area was checked. There did not appear to be any issues.
  • Traffic Accident: Patrol responded to a parking lot in the 1000 block of 2nd Street Pike for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was pulling into a parking space when they struck unit 2 which was legally parked. Tow was not required.
  • Traffic Accident: Patrol responded to the 800blk of Almshouse Road for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was traveling eastbound on Almshouse Road when they left the roadway and struck two mailboxes and a utility pole. Tow was required.

  • Disabled Vehicle: Patrol observed a disabled vehicle in the middle of 2nd Street Pike. Contact was made with the driver and tow was requested.
  • Fraud/Scam: A complainant reported that someone used their family member’s information to open credit cards. They had contacted the credit card company to handle the incident.
  • Found Property: An individual dropped off property that was found in a parking lot off of Bustleton Pike. Patrol was able to get into contact with the owner and the property was returned.
  • Traffic Accident (DUI Arrest): Patrol responded to the area of Bustleton Pike and Valley Drive for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was being operated on Bustleton Pike when it lost control and left the roadway. Through investigation, the driver was taken into custody for the suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

March 29

  • Vehicle Lock Out: Patrol responded to Mallard Road for a vehicle lockout. Once on location, contact was made with the vehicle owner. Using lockout tools, patrol was able to gain entry.

March 30

  • Traffic Accident: Patrol responded to the area of Buck Road and Rocksville Road for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was traveling northbound on Buck Road and made a left turn onto Rocksville Road. While turning, unit # 1 struck unit 2 which was traveling on Rocksville Road. Tow was not required.
  • Traffic Accident: Patrol responded to the intersection of Bustleton Pike and Knowles Avenue for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was traveling on Knowles Avenue and had stopped at Bustleton Pike. Unit 1 entered into the intersection and made contact with unit # 2 which was traveling southbound on Bustleton Pike.
  • Fire: Patrol responded to Marquis Ridge for the report of a mulch fire. The Northampton Township Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire.
  • Suspicious Vehicle: At 11:12 p.m., patrol observed an occupied vehicle in the Northampton Township Park located on Hatboro Road. Contact was made with the individuals inside who were advised that the park was closed after dark.

March 31

  • Traffic Accident: Patrol responded to the 1400blk of Bridgetown Pike for a traffic accident. Unit 1 (Motorcycle) was traveling southbound on Bridgetown Pike when it lost control and went on its side. Tow was required.
  • Found Animal (Dog): Patrol responded to the 700 block of Bustleton Pike for a found dog. Once on location, patrol located the dog owner. The dog was returned home.
