16 Accidents Reported In A Week In Northampton Township
The Northampton Township Police Department said two of the accidents involved hit-and-runs.
NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA —The Northampton Township Police Department responded to 16 traffic accidents in a week.
The Northampton Township Police Department has released its police blotter of criminal incidents for the period of Nov. 27 to Dec. 3.
During this tour, Patrol handled 18 Alarm Calls; six Abandoned 911 Calls; 47 Medical Calls; four Bookings; seven Domestic Disputes; six Civil Disputes; and 52 Traffic Monitoring Details.

Found Animal —Patrol responded to the area of Carmelita Drive for a found dog. Once on location, patrol was able to find the dog’s owner.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the 1800blk of 2nd Street Pike for a traffic accident. Unit #1 was traveling northbound behind unit #2 on 2nd Street Pike. While traveling, unit #2 stopped to allow a truck to back into a parking lot. Unit #1 struck unit #2 from behind. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and one vehicle was towed from the scene.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the 500blk of Lower Holland Road for the report of a traffic accident involving an animal. Unit # 1 was traveling westbound on Lower Holland Road and struck a deer that was in the roadway. The vehicle sustained minor damage and a tow was not required.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the intersection of Buck Road and Briarwood Drive for a traffic accident. Unit # 1 stopped at the stop sign on Briarwood Drive and began to enter onto Buck Road. While entering onto Buck Road, unit # 1 was struck by unit # 2 which was traveling northbound on Buck Road. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and were towed from the scene.
Nov. 28
Traffic Accident Hit and Run —Patrol responded to the area of Pulinski Road and Fox Croft Drive for a traffic accident – hit and run. Unit # 2 was traveling eastbound on Pulinski Road toward Hatboro Road when unit # 1 attempted to pass them. While passing, unit # 1 struck unit # 2 and did not stop. The driver was located for unit # 2.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the area of the Crossroads Plaza Shopping Center for a traffic accident. Unit # 2 was stopped and waiting to make a right turn onto northbound 2nd Street Pike. While stopped, unit # 1 struck the rear of unit # 2. Both vehicles sustained minor damage and tow was not required.
Information Reported —The complainant reports that they received a note left by the mail carrier indicating that their mailbox flag was up but there was no mail inside. The note indicated that if mail was left, to contact law enforcement. It was confirmed that mail carriers carry postcards stating the above. The complainant had mailed checks which were all canceled. Vehicle Lock Out Patrol responded to the Richboro Plaza Shopping Center for a vehicle lock out. Using lock out tools, patrol was able to assist the motorist by unlocking their vehicle.
Traffic Accident – Hit and Run —Patrol responded to the area of Jacksonville Road and North Traymore Avenue for a traffic accident – hit and run. Unit # 2 was traveling northbound on Jacksonville Road when it was struck by unit # 1 which was traveling the same direction. The driver of unit # 1 exited the vehicle and left the area on foot. The driver of unit # 1 was identified.
Nov. 29
Fraud —The complainant reports that points from their credit card were used to make purchases. The had contacted their credit card company who was going to change their account number and return the points.
Fraud —The complainant reports several fraudulent purchases were made using their bank information. The case was forwarded to detectives.
Threats / Warrant Arrest —Patrol responded to the area of Stafford Place for threats. Once on location, the individual making the threats fled the area on foot. Patrol checked the area and was able to locate the individual who also had an active warrant. The individual was taken into custody for the warrant and other related charges for this incident.
Nov. 30
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the area of Newtown-Richboro Road and Holland Road for a traffic accident. Unit # 1 was traveling eastbound on Newtown-Richboro Road when a deer ran into the roadway. Unit # 1 attempted to avoid the deer and struck unit # 2 which was traveling westbound on Newtown-Richboro Road. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and were towed.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the area of Old Jacksonville Road for a traffic accident. Unit # 1 was traveling southbound on Old Jacksonville Road when a deer ran into the roadway. Unit # 1 struck the deer. Unit # 1 sustained moderate damage and was towed.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the 900blk of 2nd Street Pike for a traffic accident. Unit # 1 was traveling southbound in the left lane on 2nd Street Pike when it had passed unit # 2 which was traveling the same direction in the right line. While passing, unit # 1 struck unit # 2. Both vehicles sustained minor damage and tow was not required.
Road Hazard —Patrol responded to the 700blk of Bustleton Pike for a road hazard. The complainant reports a microwave in the middle of the roadway. The item was found and will be disposed of.
Dec. 1
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the 1600 block of Bridgetown Pike for a traffic accident. Unit # 1 was traveling on Bridgetown Pike when a deer ran into the roadway and unit # 1. Unit # 1 sustained heavy front-end damage and was towed. A second vehicle also struck the same deer and sustained damage. The second vehicle did not require a tow.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the 800blk of Bustleton Pike for a traffic accident. Unit # 1 exited a parking lot onto Bustleton Pike. While doing so, unit # 1 made contact with unit # 2 which was traveling southbound on Bustleton Pike. Both vehicles sustained minor damage and tow was not required.
Suspicious Vehicle —The complainant reports a silver or white Toyota truck with no registration plate on Industrial Drive removing metal from a dumpster. Patrol checked the area with negative contact.
Dec. 2
Vehicle Lockout —Patrol responded to the Schoolhouse Shopping Center located on 2nd Street Pike for a vehicle lockout. The complainant locked their keys inside their vehicle. Using lockout tools, patrol was able to gain entry for the complainant.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the 1000blk of East Holland Road for a traffic accident. Unit # 1 was traveling eastbound on East Holland Road when a deer ran out into the roadway. Unit # 1 swerved to miss the deer and struck a utility pole. Unit # 1 sustained heavy damage and was towed.
Investigation of Open Doors —While on patrol in the area of Surrey Drive at 2:40 a.m., patrol located an open garage door. Contact was made with the property owners, and everything was ok at the home.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the area of Manor Drive for a traffic accident. Unit # 1 was traveling northbound on 2nd Street Pike when they lost control of their vehicle and struck multiple small trees and a fence. Unit # 1 sustained moderate damage and tow was not required.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the 700blk of Bridgetown Pike for a traffic accident. Unit # 1 was traveling on Bridgetown Pike when they lost control of their vehicle while negotiating a bend in the roadway. Unit # 1 was towed from the scene.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the area of Woodland Drive for a traffic accident. Unit # 1 backed out from their driveway and struck unit # 2 which was parked on the street. Both vehicles sustained minor damage and tow was not required.
Dec. 3
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the area of Bridgetown Pike and Old Bristol Road for a traffic accident. Unit # 2 was traveling southbound on Bridgetown Pike when it began to slow down for a red traffic signal at Old Bristol Road. While slowing down, unit # 2 was struck by unit # 1 which was following from behind. One vehicle was towed from the scene.
Road / Traffic Hazard —Patrol responded to the area of 2nd Street Pike and Sackettsford Road for a tree in the roadway. Once on scene, patrol located a tree that was partially blocking the roadway. The Department of Public Works responded and cleared the roadway.
Fires —Patrol responded to the area of Independence Drive for the report of wires burning inside a home. Once on scene, patrol made contact with the complainant who reported smoke and electrical smell coming from the home. The matter was turned over to the Northampton Fire Department who found that the issue was coming from an electrical extension cord. The home was safe.
