Main Street Boutique Draws Big Crowds of Shoppers!

With Thanksgiving behind them and the holidays fast approaching, shoppers poured into the Main Street Boutique on November 29 in support of Abington Health.  There was something for everyone, with 36 different vendors situated throughout the beautifully decorated Huntingdon Valley Country Club, each offering a splendid array of wares that ranged from jewelry, clothing, and one-of-a-kind accessories to hostess gifts, holiday decorations and items for the man in one’s life.  In celebration of the Abington Health Foundation Women’s Board 100th Anniversary, a special buying opportunity came in the form of Byers’ Choice Ltd. caroler figurines of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Elkins, our founding family.  Eight fabulous raffle baskets also drew much attention, as did the silent auction that promised a catered “Ladies Luncheon for 25 Guests.”

This first-time event was nothing less than first class.  Event-goers from throughout the community were greeted with complimentary mimosas and goody bags upon their arrival, and had the opportunity to take a midday break from their shopping sprees for a lovely buffet luncheon.   It wasn’t just about the shopping either; friends got a chance to mingle and take pleasure in the festive atmosphere.  With such a huge success on their hands, there is no doubt that the AHF Women’s Board will be reopening the Main Street Boutique next year.  Sponsors for 2013 are now being accepted.  As for all those satisfied customers, please tell any vendors, sponsors or supporters with whom you come into contact in the future that “I met you on Main Street!”
