NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA —The Northampton Police Department is seeking the public's help in identifying those responsible for smashing windows in attempted vehicle thefts last week.

In both cases, each locked vehicle had a window broken out to gain entry and both vehicles appeared to have their wiring harnesses tampered with, most likely in an attempt to start the vehicle.

Police are asking any residents along Bennett Place who have security cameras/doorbell cameras, etc. to check their footage for any suspicious vehicles or activity during the overnight hours between Aug. 29-30.

Police also reported a few thefts from vehicles on Aug. 24 at the Northampton Township Fitness Center parking lot located off Newtown-Richboro Road.

The thefts occurred in the nighttime hours, generally between 8:30 p.m. and 11 p.m.

Unfortunately, locking the vehicles in those incidents was not enough, police said.

Police said the subject(s) were brazen enough to smash windows to steal items from the vehicles.

Anyone with information about those thefts should contact Police Officer Waters at 215-322-6111.
