Avoid Using Exterior U.S. Postal Mailboxes In Lower Bucks, Police Warn

NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA —The Northampton Township Police Department is once again warning residents not to use exterior U.S. Post Office mailboxes anywhere, either in or outside the township.

Mail thefts from various exterior mailboxes have been ongoing throughout Lower Bucks County, police said.

Police said they received video footage from the Northampton Township Water Authority of a subject stealing mail from the exterior mailbox.

The theft happened at 12:18 a.m. Feb. 1.

Police said a white Chevrolet Camaro pulled into the parking lot with a suspect exiting the front passenger side.

The suspect walked up to the mailboxes and began fishing out mail out of both boxes.

Police are asking residents to check if payments were received if you placed mail in the mailbox recently.

Both mailboxes were temporarily put out of service.
