Damaged Decorations, 15 Accidents Top Northampton Twp. Crimes
The Northampton Township Police Department has released its blotter of criminal incidents for the past week.

NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA —A resident's holiday decorations were damaged, there were a few burglaries and numerous traffic accidents that police handled over the past week.
The Northampton Township Police Department has released its blotter of criminal incidents from Dec. 4 to Dec. 10.
During the tour, Patrol handled 24 Alarm Calls; 13 Abandoned 911 Calls; 43 Medical Emergencies; 21 Bookings; 3 Domestic Disputes; 5 Civil Disputes; 61 Traffic Monitoring Details, and 15 Crime Prevention Details.

Dec. 4

Burglary —Patrol responded to Kasi Circle for the report of a burglary. Between the hours of 2:30 a.m. to 2:40 a.m., an unknown individual(s) forced their way through a window into the occupied home. Items were missing from within the home. Detectives processed the scene for evidence and were taking charge of the investigation.
Fraud (Attempted) —Patrol responded to the area of Holly Knoll Drive for fraud. The complainant reports that they were in contact with a business that had attempted to take control of their computer. They were able to find that the incident was fraudulent and no money was given.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the area of Almshouse Road and Spencer Road for a traffic accident. Unit # 1 had stopped on Spencer Road and was attempting to make a left turn onto Almshouse Road. While entering onto the road, unit # 1 made contact with unit # 2 which was traveling eastbound on Almshouse Road. Both vehicles sustained severe damage and were towed from the scene.
Theft (Mail) —Patrol responded to the area of Wendy Way for a theft. The complainant reports that they had placed an item to be mailed in their mailbox with their flag up. Later in the day, they received information from their mail carrier that the mailbox flag was up but there was no mail inside. The investigation was turned over to detectives.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the area of Bustleton Pike and Elm Avenue for a traffic accident. Unit # 1 was traveling on Elm Avenue and had stopped at the stop sign at Bustleton Pike. Unit # 1 made a right turn and contact was made with unit # 2 which was traveling northbound on Bustleton Pike. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and both were towed from the scene.
Dec. 5
Burglary —Patrol responded to the Village Shires Pharmacy located at 1464 Buck Road for an alarm. Once on location, it was found that the incident was a burglary. At approximately 4:19 a.m., two suspects broke into the business and stole items. Detectives processed the scene for evidence and were taking charge of the investigation.
Fraud (Checks) —The complainant came into police headquarters to report fraud. The complainant reported that there was an issue with their account and upon contacting their bank, found that their account had been locked. The complainant contacted their bank and found that someone had “Washed” a check from their account. The complainant reported that they mailed their check using the USPS box in Richboro. Information gathered.
Traffic Accident (Deer) —Patrol responded to 1400blk of Old Jacksonville Road for a traffic accident. Unit # 1 was traveling southbound on Old Jacksonville Road when a deer entered the roadway. As a result, unit # 1 made contact with the deer. Unit # 1 sustained minor damage and tow was not required.
Fires —Patrol responded to the 200 block of Jacksonville Road for a fire. The complainant reports a chimney fire and smoke from the home. Patrol arrived on location and the home was evacuated. Northampton Township Fire Department arrived and was able to contain the incident. The small fire was extinguished and the home was ventilated. The home was made safe.
Dec. 6
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the area of Holland Road and Hope Road for a traffic accident. Unit # 1 was traveling southbound on Holland Road when it had lost control at the curve and struck a PECO pole. Unit # 1 sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
ID Theft —The complainant came into police headquarters to report that they received a letter thanking them for opening up a bank account. The complainant reported that they never opened up an account and had contacted the bank. The bank was going to close the account. Information was gathered.
Phone Scam Attempt —The complainant reports that they received a phone call that they had won $450,000. In order to get the money won, the unknown individual told the complainant that they would need a cashier check for a certain amount to insure the package prize. The complainant did not provide the individual with any information or money.
Investigation of Open Door —While checking a school on Holland Road at 11:32 p.m., patrol found an open door. Interior was checked and everything was ok. The door was secured.
Dec. 7
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the 1200blk of East Bristol Road for a traffic accident. Unit # 2 was stopped in traffic when unit # 1 struck them from behind. Both vehicles sustained minor damage and tow was not required.
Found Animal (Dog) —Patrol responded to Lydia Avenue for a loose dog. Once on location, dog was found and returned to its owner.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the area of West Bristol Road and Jacksonville Road for a traffic accident. Unit # 1 was traveling westbound on West Bristol Road and was attempting to get into the left turn lane. While doing so, it struck unit # 2 which was traveling in the same direction on West Bristol Road. Both units sustained minor damage and a tow was not required.
Dec. 8
Suspicious Vehicle —While checking Village Shires Shopping Center located off Buck Road at 3:19 a.m., patrol located an occupied vehicle in the parking lot. Both individuals were identified and there was no criminal activity. Both individuals left the area.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the intersection of Elm Avenue and Bustleton Pike for a traffic accident. Unit # 2 was stopped on Elm Avenue and was waiting for turn onto Bustleton Pike. While waiting, unit # 1 was traveling the same direction on Elm Avenue and struck the rear of unit # 2. Both vehicles sustained minor / moderate damage and tow was not required.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the Crossroads Plaza Shopping Center located at 800 Bustleton Pike for a traffic accident. Unit # 1 struck unit # 2 while pulling into a parking spot. Unit # 2 was parked. Both vehicles sustained minor damage and tow was not required.
Fraud —The complainant reported that they were alerted by their bank that someone had tried to obtain a debit card linked to their account. The suspect entered into the bank to request the debit card and was denied. The complainant took steps to safeguard their information. The case was forwarded to detectives.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the 300blk of Newtown-Richboro Road for a traffic accident. Unit # 1 was traveling eastbound on Newtown-Richboro Road when one of its wheels came off from the vehicle. The wheel struck unit # 2 which was traveling westbound on Newtown-Richboro Road. One vehicle was towed from the scene.
Suspicious Incident —Patrol responded to Spring Avenue for a suspicious incident. The complainant reports that a man came to their home to report that they were on the scene to work on the complainant’s vehicle. The complainant knew this was suspicious and the man left the area.
Retail Theft —Patrol responded to the Fine Wine and Spirits located at 890 2nd Street Pike for a retail theft. On this date, a male took items from the store and left without paying for them. The case was forwarded to detectives.
Dec. 9
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the 800 block of Bustleton Pike for a traffic accident. Unit # 3 was traveling southbound on Bustleton Pike and was stopped behind a vehicle that was waiting to turn left into the Richboro Center parking lot. Unit # 1 was traveling in the same direction on Bustleton Pike and struck the rear of unit # 2 which then struck unit # 3. A tow was not required.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the Walgreens parking lot located at 996 2nd Street Pike for a traffic accident. Unit # 1 was backing out of a parking spot when it struck unit # 2 which was traveling through the parking lot. A tow was not required.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the 1000blk of 2nd Street Pike for a traffic accident. Unit # 1 was traveling northbound on 2nd Street Pike and struck unit # 2 which was crossing 2nd Street Pike from the Schoolhouse Shopping Center to the Richboro Plaza Shopping Center. Both vehicles sustained major damage and were towed.
Dec. 10
Road/Traffic Hazard —Patrol responded to the 1100 block of Buck Road for a road hazard. The complainant reported a large tree in the roadway. Once on location, the tree was located and the roadway was closed. Northampton Department of Public Works responded and cleared the roadway.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the 100 block of Stoneyford Road. Unit # 1 was traveling westbound when it lost control of the curve and slid off from the roadway. Unit # 1 sustained minor damage and tow was not required.
Traffic Accident —Patrol came across an accident that occurred at the intersection of Upper Holland Road and Township Road. Unit # 2 was turning onto Upper Holland Road with a green traffic signal when unit # 1 struck them. Unit # 1 had a red traffic signal and was traveling on Upper Holland Road.
Traffic Accident (Hit and Run) —Patrol responded to the Wawa parking lot located at 870 2nd Street Pike for a traffic accident. Unit # 2 was parked legally in the parking lot and was struck by another vehicle. The unknown vehicle left the scene without providing information. Unit # 2 sustained minor damage and tow was not required.
Criminal Mischief —Patrol responded to the area of New Road for Criminal Mischief. The complainant had holiday decorations damaged sometime overnight by an unknown individual(s).
