Fraud, Accidents Reported By Northampton Township Police

The Northampton Township Police Department reported the following incidents between April 15 and April 21.

NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Northampton Township Police Department reported the following incidents between April 15 and April 21.

During this tour, patrol handled 12 alarm calls, 12 abandoned 911 calls, 34 medical emergencies, 18 bookings, nine domestic disputes, 11 civil disputes, 70 traffic monitoring details, and four crime prevention details.

April 15
  • Suspicious Vehicle - At approximately 4:05 a.m., patrol observed an occupied vehicle parked in a parking lot off from Shepherds Way. Contact was made with both individuals inside and everything checked out okay.
  • Wires/Pole Down - Patrol responded to the 100 block of Bustleton Pike for the report of wires down across the roadway. Once on location, patrol located a cable wire that was down. Verizon was contacted.
  • Road/Traffic Hazard - Patrol located a large tree blocking a lane in the 1300 block of Old Jacksonville Road. Northampton Township Public Works responded and removed the tree from the roadway.

  • Traffic Accident - Patrol responded to a parking lot off from Hatboro Road for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was backing out from a parking space when it made contact with unit 2. Tow was not required.
  • Disabled Vehicle - Patrol responded to the 100 block of Almshouse Road for a disabled vehicle. Once on location, contact was made with the driver who reported that their vehicle was disabled. The vehicle was off to the side of the roadway and they did not require police assistance.

April 17

  • Investigation of Open Windows - At approximately 01:50 a.m., patrol observed an open window to a business located off from 2nd Street Pike. Patrol checked the business, and everything appeared okay. The business owner was notified.
  • Traffic Accident - Patrol responded to a parking lot in the 1400 block of Buck Road for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was backing out from a parking space when it made contact with unit 2 which was parked. Tow was not required.
  • Traffic Accident - Patrol responded to the intersection of Newtown-Richboro Road and Holland Road for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was traveling westbound on Newtown-Richboro Road and was attempting to make a left turn onto Holland Road. While turning, unit 1 made contact with unit 2 which was traveling eastbound on Newtown-Richboro Road. Tow was required.

April 18

  • Fire - Patrol responded to a home on Tanglebrook Drive for the report of a fire. Once on location, it was found that a faulty appliance inside the home had caused a smell of smoke inside. The Northampton Township Fire Department responded to the scene and made sure the home was safe.
  • Disabled Vehicle - Patrol responded to the 700 block of Newtown-Richboro Road for a disabled vehicle. Contact was made with the driver who reported that they had a private tow enroute and did not need police assistance. The vehicle was off to the side of the roadway and did not interfere with traffic.

April 19

  • Wires/Pole Down - Patrol responded to the 700blk of Bridgetown Pike for the report of a low hanging wire. Once on location, the wire was located and was not causing any traffic issues. Verizon was contacted to address the low hanging wire.
  • Fraud - Complainant reports that an unknown person gained access to their store account and made several purchases out of state. Information was gathered and this case was forwarded to detectives.
  • Fraud - Complainant reported that while checking their bank account, they found fraudulent charges on their account. They were in contact with their bank in address the issue. Information was gathered.

April 20

  • Investigation of Open Doors - At 03:35 a.m., patrol observed an open car door in the area of Jason’s Way. Patrol spoke with the vehicle owner who confirmed that nothing inside the vehicle was missing. The door had been left open by mistake.
  • Fire - Patrol responded to Titus Court for a grill fire. The Northampton Township Fire Department arrived on scene and extinguished the fire.

April 21

  • Fraud - A resident came into police headquarters to report that someone gained access to their cell phone provider and purchased a new cell phone using the complainant’s information. Information was gathered and the complainant was in contact with their cellular provider.
