Large Turtle In The Road, Altered Check: Northampton Police Report
Patrol handled 16 alarm calls; 20 abandoned 911 calls; 38 medical emergencies; 12 bookings; 3 domestics; and numerous traffic accidents.
NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Northampton Township Police Department responded to the following calls from June 3 to June 9.
During this period, patrol handled 16 alarm calls; 20 abandoned 911 calls; 38 medical emergencies; 12 bookings; 3 domestic disputes; 16 civil disputes; 71 traffic monitoring details and 1 crime prevention detail.
June 3- Traffic Accident (Deer Involved) - Patrol responded to the 1500 block of Old Jacksonville Road. Unit 1 was traveling northbound on Old Jacksonville Road when a deer entered onto the roadway. As a result, unit 1 and the deer made contact. Tow was not required.
- Found Animal (Dog) - Patrol responded to the area of Old Jacksonville Road for a found dog. Patrol took the dog, and the owner was located. Dog was reunited with its owner.
- Traffic Accident - Patrol responded to the area of Cherry Blossom Drive for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was traveling northbound on Cherry Blossom Drive when it struck a parked vehicle. Information was gathered and tow was required.

- Suspicious Vehicle - At 2:10 a.m., patrol observed an occupied vehicle parked behind a business in theVillage Shires Shopping Center. Contact was made with the individual inside who was identified. There were no problems and the individual left the property.
- Traffic Accident - Patrol responded to the area of North Timber Drive for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was traveling southbound on North Timber Road when it struck a parked vehicle. Tow was required. Vehicle Lockout Patrol responded to the area of Township Road for a vehicle lockout. Once on location, contact was made with the vehicle owner. Using lockout tools, patrol was able to gain entry.
- Vehicle Lockout - Patrol responded to a parking lot located at 295 Buck Road for a vehicle lockout. Once on location, contact was made with the vehicle owner. Using lockout tools, patrol was able to gain entry.
- Traffic Accident - Patrol responded to the 700 block of Newtown-Richboro Road for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was traveling westbound on Newtown-Richboro Road when it left the roadway and struck a utility pole. The roadway was closed, and PECO was contacted since the utility pole was damaged. Once PECO deemed that the area was safe, the vehicle was towed, and the roadway was reopened.
June 5
- Road/Traffic Hazard - Patrol responded to Elm Avenue for the report of a tree down on the roadway. Once on location, patrol observed a tree that was blocking the roadway. The Northampton Township Public Works responded to the scene and the tree was removed from the roadway.

- Found Property - Complainant reports finding property on the side of Holland Road. Patrol took possession of the property and was able to locate the owner. Property was turned over to the owner.
- Theft - Complainant reported that they had mailed a check from their home in the beginning of the month. In checking their accounts, they had found that the check had been altered and cashed. Information was gathered and this case is assigned to detectives.
- Traffic Accident - Patrol responded to the area of Almshouse Road and Addisville Way for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was entering onto Almshouse Road from Addisville Way when it made contact with unit 2 which was traveling eastbound on Almshouse Road. Tow was not required.
- Animal Complaint - Patrol responded to East Holland Road for an animal complaint. The complainant reported that a large turtle was in the middle of the roadway. Once on location, patrol was able to safely relocate the turtle.
June 7
- Wires/Pole Down - Patrol responded to the area of East Holland Road and Grant Drive for the report of low hanging wires. Patrol located the wires which were hanging lot. Verizon and Comcast were contacted in regard to the wires.
- Traffic Accident - Patrol responded to a parking lot in the 100blk of Buck Road for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was exiting a parking space when it made contact with uni 2 which was legally parked. Tow was not required.
June 8
- Assist Other Police Department - Patrol (K-9 Unit) responded to Warminster Township to assist with in incident that occurred in their jurisdiction.
- Fire - Patrol responded to Nikol Drive for the report of a fire. Once on location, the fire had been extinguished. The Northampton Township Fire Department arrived on scene and checked the affected areas where the fire had been.
June 9
- Traffic Stop (DUI Arrest) - Patrol initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for a motor vehicle violation on West Bristol Road. Through investigation, the driver was taken into custody for the suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
- Investigation of Open Doors - At 2:44 a.m., patrol observed an open door to a building in the 1100 block of Holland Road. The building was checked, and everything appeared okay. The door was secured.
