Northampton Township Police Sergeant Retires After 41 Years

Sgt. Stephen Kingsdorf began his career working with the department as a dispatcher in 1983.

RICHBORO, PA — After 41 years of with the Northampton Township Police Department, Sgt. Stephen Kingsdorf has retired.

Sgt. Kingsdorf began his career working with the department as a dispatcher in 1983. He became a full time officer in 1988. In 2016, he was promoted to corporal and in 2017 to sergeant.

Sgt. Kingsdorf was instrumental in the development of the department’s Quality of Life unit and was its first supervisor.

Through the years, he managed the Drug Take Back program and the annual Thanksgiving Food Drive for the department. He also served as the Bucks County Crisis Intervention Task (CIT) Force Coordinator and instructor.

Sgt. Kingsdorf is a proponent of mental health support services and was a crisis hotline volunteer.

Sgt. Kingsdorf also started the township’s social media platform (Facebook) to help connect the department with the community. He dedicated many hours on and off duty to make sure the page grew and ran smoothly. As of today, the department’s Facebook page has more than 16,000 followers.
