Package Theft, Brush Fire, Accidents: Northampton Police Report

Police also investigated several hit and runs and responded to a down wires call.

NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — Patrol reported the following incidents and arrests between Oct. 28 and Nov. 3.

During this tour, patrol also handled 17 alarm calls; 11 abandoned 911 calls; 39 medical emergencies; 5 bookings; 3 domestic disputes; 8 civil disputes; 65 traffic monitoring details and 11 crime prevention details.

  • Traffic Accident (Deer Involved) - Patrol responded to the area of Holland Road and Rocksville Road for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was traveling southbound on Holland Road when a deer entered the roadway. As a result, contact was made. Tow was not required.
  • Traffic Accident (Hit and Run) - Patrol responded to a parking lot in the 100 block of 2nd Street Pike for a hit and run traffic accident. Once on location, contact was made with the complainant who reported that the striking vehicle involved fled the area. Information was given out to surrounding departments and the vehicle was located on Street Road. The vehicle was stopped and through an investigation the driver was taken into custody.

October 29

  • Traffic Accident - Patrol responded to the area of Bridgetown Pike and Addington Way for a traffic accident. Unit 2 was traveling southbound on Bridgetown Pike and had stopped to make a left turn onto Addington Way. While stopped, unit 2 was struck from behind by unit 1 which was traveling the same direction. Tow was required.

  • Fires - Patrol responded to the 300 block of Lower Holland Road for the report of a brush fire. Patrol responded out with the Northampton Township Fire Department. Once on location, the fire was out, and the area was soaked with water.

October 31

  • Traffic Accident - Patrol responded to the area of West Bristol Road and Jacksonville Road for a traffic accident. Unit 2 was stopped on West Bristol Road at Jacksonville Road when unit 1 struck them from behind. Tow was not required.

November 1

  • Fires - Patrol responded to the area of Tanyard Road and 2nd Street Pike for a landscaping truck that was on fire. The Northampton Township Fire Department arrived on scene and the fire was extinguished.
  • Theft - Patrol responded to Hope Road for the report of a package theft. Complainant reports that they had an item delivered to the house and when they went to retrieve the package, it was missing. Information was gathered and this case was assigned to Detectives.

November 2

  • Down Wires - Patrol responded to the 500 block of Temperance Lane for the report of downed wires. Once on location, patrol located the wires which were removed from the roadway. Verizon was notified.

November 3

  • Traffic Accident (Hit and Run) - Patrol responded to a parking lot in the 1000 block of 2nd Street Pike for a hit and run traffic accident. Unit 1 had struck unit 2 which was park. Through investigation, patrol was able to locate and identify unit 1 which was involved in this crash.
