PECO Imposters Trying To Scam Northampton Residents: Police
If someone knocks on your door and says they're from PECO, don't give them any important information. It's a scam, police say.

Northampton residents: If someone knocks on your door and says they're from PECO and they need important information, don't give it to them. In fact, don't talk to them. Just close the door and report the incident to police.
That's the advice offered by Northampton Township Police this week, after numerous residents have reported that imposters pretending to be PECO representatives have come to their homes.
"We have had a few calls over the past couple of days for people going door to door representing themselves as PECO employees and asking about account information," according to police.

Police have confirmed with PECO that they do not have anyone that goes door to door, and no permits for such activity have been issued by township officials.
Police ask residents to not engage with such a person if they come to their door, and do not give them any information. Suspicious activity should be reported to local police at 215-357-8700.
