Scams, Accidents Investigated By Northampton Township Police
The Northampton Township Police Department reported the following incidents between April 1 and April 7.
NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Northampton Township Police Department reported the following incidents between April 1 and April 7.
During the seven day period, patrol handled 34 alarm calls, 7 abandoned 911 calls, 43 medical emergencies, 10 bookings, 6 domestic disputes, 6 civil disputes, 53 traffic monitoring details, and three crime prevention details.
April 1

- ACCIDENT - Patrol responded to 2nd Street Pike and Tanyard Road for a traffic accident. Unit 2 was traveling on 2nd Street Pike when it came to a stop at Tanyard Road. While stopped, unit 2 was struck from behind by unit 1 which was traveling the same direction. Tow was not required.
- SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE - Patrol responded to Lakeview Drive for the report of a suspicious vehicle. A resident reported an unoccupied vehicle parked on the road with damage. Patrol spoke with the owner and everything checked out.
April 2
- ASSIST OTHER POLICE DPARTMENTS - Patrol responded to Bridgetown Pike for the report of a vehicle and individuals trespassing on a property. Once on location, patrol found a lock to a gate had been cut. Patrol assisted the Norfolk Southern Police Department with checking the area.
- FRAUD/SCAM - A resident reported that they received an alert on their computer indicating that their bank account had been compromised and to call the number provided. They told police that they called the number and spoke to an individual who requested that they to go to their local bank and withdraw and transfer money. The resident realized it was a scam and contact with this individual was terminated.
- FOUND PROPERTY - Property which was found on Golden Gate Drive was dropped off at the police department. Patrol was able to contact with the owner who later retrieved their items.
- ACCIDENT - Patrol responded to the 1300 block of Almshouse Road for a traffic accident. Unit 2 was stopped on Almshouse Road and was waiting to make a left turn into a parking lot. While stopped, unit 2 was struck by unit 1 from behind. No tow was required.

- GAS LEAKS - Patrol responded to a business in the 900 block of 2nd Street Pike for the report of fumes inside the building. The Northampton Township Fire Department arrived on scene and checked the building. It was found that the fumes were coming from a heating unit.
- ACCIDENT - Patrol responded to the area of Newtown-Richboro Road and Township Road for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was traveling eastbound on Newtown-Richboro Road when it disregarded the red traffic signal at Township Road. As a result, unit 1 made contact with unit 2 which was traveling on Township Road and was crossing over Newtown-Richboro Road. Tow was required.
- WIRES AND POLE DOWN - Patrol responded to Holly Knoll Drive for the report of wires that were arching/sparking. Once on location, PECO was contacted about the issue.
- ACCIDENT - Patrol responded to the area of West Bristol Road and Jacksonville Road. Unit 2 was traveling westbound on Bristol Road when it began to slow down. While slowing down, unit 2 was struck from behind by unit 1 which was traveling the same direction. Tow was not required.
- THEFT - Patrol responded to a business in the 1000 block of 2nd Street Pike for the report of theft of services. Once on location, contact was made with the owner who reported that an individual came into the business, received services and left without paying. The individual was identified and charges are pending.
April 4
- ACCIDENT - Patrol came across a driver who reported being involved in a traffic accident. Unit 1 was traveling northbound on Buck Road when a deer ran into the roadway. As a result, contact was made. Tow was not required.
- FIRE - Patrol responded to Bruce Drive for the report of a fire. The fire had already been extinguished by the time police arrived. The Northampton Township Fire Department arrived on scene and verified everything was safe.
- SCAM/FRAUD - A resident reported that they received an email that one of their accounts had been compromised. They contacted the phone number provided and spoke to an individual who reported that they would need payment in the form of a gift card to assist the complainant. The complaint found that this was a scam, and the phone call was terminated.
April 5
- VEHICLE LOCK OUT - Patrol responded to the 300 block of Middle Holland Road for a vehicle lockout. Contact was made with the vehicle owner who reported locking their keys inside their vehicle. Using lockout tools, patrol was able gain entry.
- DISABLED VEHICLE - Patrol responded to a property on Hatboro Road for a disabled vehicle. The resident reported a vehicle parked on their property for the past few days. Patrol located the vehicle and spoke with the vehicle owner. The vehicle owner reported that the vehicle would be removed that day.
April 6
- ACCIDENT - Patrol responded to the area of Elm Avenue for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was traveling on Elm Avenue when a deer jumped into the roadway. As a result, contact was made. Tow was not required.
- ACCIDENT - Patrol responded to a parking lot in the 200 block of Holland Road for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was backing out of a parking space when it made contact with unit 2 which was pulling into a parking space. Tow was not required.
- ROAD/TRAFFIC HAZARD - Patrol responded to the 100 block of Almshouse Road for a large tree branch on the roadway. Once on location, patrol located the large branch which was able to be removed from the road.
April 7
- DISABLED VEHICLE - Patrol responded to the area of Upper Holland Road and Holland Road for a disabled vehicle. Once on location, contact was made with the driver who reported that the vehicle was disabled. Upon their request, tow was requested to assist the motorist in having the vehicle towed back to their home.
- ASSIST ANOTHER POLICE DEPARTMENT - Patrol responded to the area of Buck Road and Hershel Street to assist Lower Southampton Police with a traffic accident. Patrol assisted as needed and cleared.
