Thefts From Vehicles, DUI Arrests Reported In Northampton Township
Police reported the following incidents and arrests between Sept. 23 and October 6:
NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Northampton Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between Sept. 23 and October 6:
September 23
- Vehicle Theft - Patrol responded to Westwood Place for a motor vehicle theft. Complainant reports that their vehicle was stolen in the morning hours. Information was gathered and the vehicle was located and recovered. Case is assigned to Detectives.
- Theft From Motor Vehicles - Patrol responded to several areas around West Village Road for reports of thefts from motor vehicles. In these incident, unknown individual(s) entered vehicles and stole items. Information from these incidents were gathered and are under investigation.
September 24

- Traffic Stop (Warrant Arrest) - Patrol initiated a traffic stop on a driver for a motor vehicle violation. Through an investigation, the driver was found to have an active arrest warrant. The driver was taken into custody for the warrant.
- Scam - A resident reported that they had received a phone call from an individual indicating that the resident had an active warrant for failing to show up for court. The resident knew that it was a scam and did not provide any of their information to the caller.
- Traffic Accident (DUI Arrest) - Patrol responded to Buck Road and Holland Road for a traffic accident. The crash involved two vehicles. Through an investigation, one of the drivers involved was taken into custody for the suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
September 25
- Traffic Accident (deer involved) - Patrol responded to Elm Avenue for a traffic accident involving a deer. Unit 1 was traveling eastbound on Elm Avenue when a deer entered the roadway. As a result, contact was made. A tow was not required.
September 26

- Road Hazard - Patrol responded to the 500 block of Sackettsford Road for a tree down across the roadway. Once on location, patrol located the tree. Northampton Township Public Works responded to the scene and the tree was removed.
September 27
- Disabled Vehicle - Patrol responded to Bridgetown Pike and Forrest Creek Court for a disabled vehicle. Once on location, patrol located the disabled vehicle and relocated it off from the main roadway. The vehicle operator had a private tow that was on the way.
September 28
- Traffic Stop (Drug/Warrant Arrest) - Patrol initiated a traffic stop at Bustleton Pike and Valley Drive on a vehicle for a motor vehicle violation. Through an investigation, the driver was found to have an active warrant and in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. They were taken into custody.
September 29
- Traffic Stop (DUI Arrest) - Patrol initiated a traffic stop on a driver for a motor vehicle violation at Buck Road and Elaine Drive. Through an investigation, the driver was taken into custody for suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
September 30
- Suspicious Vehicle - At approximately 3:36 a.m., patrol responded to Barry Court for the report of a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle was running and occupied with no lights on. Once on location, police spoke with the driver who lived in the area and everything checked out okay.
October 1
- Traffic Accident (Hit and Run) - Patrol responded to Almshouse Road and Temperance Lane for the report of a hit and run traffic accident. Unit 1 was traveling westbound on Almshouse Road from 2nd Street Pike when it made contact with unit 2 which was traveling in the same direction. Unit 1 left the scene before police arrival. Through investigation, unit 1 was identified in this case.
- Traffic Accident - Patrol responded to the 300 block of Newtown-Richboro Road for a traffic accident. Unit 2 was traveling westbound on Newtown-Richboro Road when the vehicle in front came to a sudden stop which caused them to come to a stop. Unit 2 was then struck by unit 1 which was following them. Tow was required.
October 2
- Suspicious Vehicle - At approximately 2:08 a.m., patrol located an occupied vehicle in the 200 block of Hatboro Road. Contact was made with the driver who was found asleep after making a delivery. Everything checked out with the operator.
October 3
- Traffic Accident (Hit and Run) - Patrol responded to Bellwood Drive for a hit-and-run traffic accident. A complainant reported that their vehicle was parked on Bellwood Drive when it was struck by an unknown vehicle. Information was gathered.
October 4
- Suspicious Vehicle - At 4:06 a.m., patrol located a vehicle in the 200 block of Holland Road with an individual inside who was asleep. Police spoke with the individual who was checked and determined to be okay.
- Fraud - A resident reported that they received a letter from Verizon indicating an unpaid balance. The complainant reported that they found that someone had used their information to open up an account that had been active for a few months. Information was gathered.
October 5
- Well Being Check - Patrol responded to Twining Ford Road for an On-Star activation. Once on scene, patrol spoke with the vehicle owner who reported that everything was okay and the activation was accidental.
October 6
- Traffic Accident - Patrol responded to Old Bristol Road and Bridgetown Pike for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was traveling on Old Bristol Road when a deer ran into the roadway. Unit 1 was able to avoid contact with the deer however the vehicle struck a curb causing damage. A tow was required.
During this tour, patrol handled 33 alarm calls; 31 abandoned 911 calls; 61 medical emergencies; 29 bookings; 7 domestic disputes; 20 civil disputes and 136 traffic monitoring detail.
