2019 Roots Picnic Lineup, Venue Change Announced

The Roots Picnic will be held at the Mann Center and feature headliners such as 21 Savage and two-time Grammy award winner H.E.R.

Philadelphia — The Roots, Philadelphia's legendary hip-hop band, have announced the lineup for the 2019 Roots Picnic, in addition to a major location change.

The line up was released Tuesday, March 12 along with the big news that the music festival will now be held at The Mann Center rather than Festival Pier.

Celebrating its 12th-year anniversary, Roots Picnic is expanding to a larger location at the Mann in Fairmount Park for the June 1 event.

Notable acts include 21 Savage, H.E.R. (who won the Best R&B Performance and for Best R&B Album Grammy awards this year), Lil Baby, and Bey, formerly known as Mos Def, who will be performing with The Roots' own Black Thought for the Black Thought Live Mixtape.

Tickets go on sale March 15 and start at $69.50. Ticket prices go all the way up to $350 a piece for the VIP treatment.

According to the Roots Picnic website, ticket prices increase as the festival grows nearer so those interested may want to purchase early.
