Professional women's tennis returns to Philadelphia this summer with the inaugural Ennoble Care Philly Open, taking place August 23–29 at the University of Pennsylvania's Hamlin Tennis Center. As the only U.S. stop on the Women's Tennis Association calendar ahead of the U.S. Open, and one of just four WTA 125 tournaments in the country, the event will welcome top-ranked players from around the world competing for valuable ranking points and final match preparation. Experience For the Common Good with its researchers—screenings and conversation spotlighting three bold women of the American Revolution. 
The For the Common Good docuseries tells the vivid stories of pioneering women who made important contributions to the founding of America. These women shaped our nation, leading the way forward as businesswomen, religious leaders, educators, and more. By embracing a fuller concept of what it took to shape our nation, we can help make our founding history more relevant, accessible, and inclusive.&nbsp;&nbsp;
This screening at HSP will be the premiere for the episode featuring Mary Norris Dickinson, a politically engaged correspondent and estate manager whose house was burned by the British during the Revolution. Other episodes shown at this screening will feature Dinah of Stenton, and Ann Wood Henry, Pennsylvania’s first female public official. Laura Keim, curator at Stenton, and Mickey Herr, researcher for the National Society of The Colonial Dames of America in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (NSCDA/PA) will discuss their archival work that supported the documentary work.

The Historical Society of Frankford, 1507 Orthodox St, Philadelphia

The Historical Society of Frankford is pleased to announce that it will host Camp Dreams, an exhibition of art created by young people, sponsored by Unique Dreams, Inc, on Friday, August 28, 2026 at 6:30 PM.&nbsp;

Unique Dreams, Inc. is a social service non-profit headquartered in Frankford. Its mission is to anchor in change, empower and strengthen youth and families by providing educational enrichment, therapeutic services, recreational programs ​and activities in a phased-in model approach to assure efficacy, while engaging the community with initiatives&nbsp; that will effectively meet the needs of the individuals that it serves. Youth participating in their summer program created the art that will be displayed.

The Historical Society is partnering with Unique Dreams to provide a venue for their special events.&nbsp; The exhibit will be displayed in the HSF Auditorium at 1507 Orthodox St in Philadelphia.

Doors open at 6:30 PM. The event is free and open to the public. Both on street parking and free, off street parking across Orthodox Street at the Frankford Friends School will be available.
