The comedian and TV host had a video chat with the nurses, who shared their coronavirus experiences, fears, and hopes with the nation.
But in typical "Ellen" fashion, she had a surprise up her sleeve.
Ciara herself, along with her husband Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russel Wilson, recorded a video message for the nurses, thanking them for their dedication to helping those suffering from the virus.
DeGeneres told the nurses when restrictions on travel and gatherings are lifted, she plans to have them all come to a recording of her show and that Shutterfly, one of the show's sponsors, is donating $50,000 to Jefferson employees who are struggling financially.
