Drive-In Movies Coming To Philadelphia's Navy Yard
Drive-in movies start Aug. 14 and include films such as "Get Out," "Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse," and all "Fast And Furious" movies.
PHILADELPHIA — Philadelphia's Navy Yard will serve as a drive-in theater from August through October.
The Philadelphia Film Society will launch the PFS Drive-In at the Navy Yard on Friday, Aug. 14.
The first week of movies include "Get Out," "Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse," and "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon."

Then, the drive-in will feature a selection of films including the entire "Fast and Furious" franchise as the late night weekend screenings over four weeks.
"The Fast and the Furious" and "2 Fast 2 Furious will be show Friday, Aug. 14 and Saturday, Aug. 15.

Tickets to opening weekend at the Drive-In will go on sale Wednesday, Aug. 12 and are $12 for adults, and $7 for child. Film society member will pay just $8 for tickets. Tickets will be available online only at the film society's website here.
One movie will be shown on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Friday and Saturday will feature two movies. Free community programmed screenings will be shown on Mondays; tickets must be reserved for the free screenings.
The free community programmed screenings will kick off with a partnership between PFS and ReelBlack, focusing on groundbreaking films from black female filmmakers. Featured films are "Night Catches Us," "Love and Basketball," and "The Watermelon Woman."
Able to accommodate up to 200 cars per screening, films will be shown through a digital projection on a large screen fastened to stacked shipping containers. The screenings will take place on the Delaware Riverfront at the Navy Yard, just off the intersection of League Island Boulevard and Admiral Peary Way.
Each screening will comply with the most current health and safety standards per local jurisdictions and state regulations in order to protect patrons and staff. The PFS Drive-In will strictly adhere to city-approved safety guidelines for drive-ins, which, along with ticketing and pricing information, can be found on the PFS Website.
Attendees are required to remain in their vehicles at all times unless using the restroom. When outside the vehicle, attendees are required to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
