PHILADELPHIA – It's no secret to those of us in the Philadelphia area that the food around here is amazing. The city and its suburbs have multiple James Beard Award nominees and winners, countless dining spots with the "best" of a specific dish, and more brewers, distillers, cocktail and dive bars than we can handle.

However, to others who are unfamiliar with the City of Brotherly Love, they might see New York City as the pinnacle of dining on the East Coat.

"I’ve always thought that Philadelphia and New York shared a lot of the same energy, virility, and heart," Philadelphia native and famous restaurateur Stephen Starr told the magazine. "But in Philadelphia, we have bigger footprints in which to create."
