Mummers Will March On New Year's Day Despite Cold
It seems it takes more than frigid temperatures to stop the Mummers, as officials said the parade is all set for Monday.

PHILADELPHIA – It's official: the Mummers Parade is on for Monday, Jan. 1, New Year's Day, despite the frigid temperatures in Philadelphia's forecast.
Officials made the call on Saturday, Dec. 30, saying a majority of Mummers divisions voted to go ahead with the parade.
Parade spectators can warm up at the café on Dilworth Park, the nearby SEPTA concourse, the Kimmel Center, and the Philadelphia High School for Creative and Performing Arts.

Additionally, Sugarhouse Casino and PHL-17 are providing warming trolleys along Market Street for the marchers, officials said. Sugarhouse is also providing 5,000 hand warmers to the Mummers to help protect against the cold, city officials said.
The predicted temperatures on Jan. 1 are a high of 20 and a low of 10. Winds are expected to be 11 miles per hour from the northwest.
The forecast led city and parade officials to mull postponing the annual event.
