Arrest Made In 'Executions' By Historic Mansion: Philadelphia Police

Philadelphia Police said a 53-year-old man will be charged in connection with the deaths of Thurston Cooper, 49, and Krystina Chambers, 38.

PHILADELPHIA — Philadelphia Police have arrested a 53-year-old man in connection with the "execution style" killings of two people near the historic Mount Pleasant Mansion in Philadelphia's Fairmount Park.

Lamar Young, 52 years old, from 4800 block of North 12th Street, will be charged with two counts of murder, criminal conspiracy, firearms violations, and related offenses stemming from his involvement in the killing of Thurston Cooper, 49, of the 1500 block of Chew Avenue, and Krystina Chambers, 38, of the 500 block of Devereaux Avenue.

The two were found with gunshots to their heads at about 10:58 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 29, on the 3800 block of Mount Pleasant Drive.

Police described the killings as "execution style," Fox 29 reports.

Medics pronounced them dead at the scene at 11:12 pm.

It's unclear if Young is the man depicted in photos released by police in the wake of the killings.
