PARADE: Coming to Footlighters Theater June 1st
Footlighters Community Theater Finishes its 89th Season with Jason Robert Brown's musical, PARADE
May 12, 2018 - Berwyn, PA - On Friday, June 1st, the oldest community theater on the Main Line will open its final show of the season: Footlighters Theater presents Jason Robert Brown’s Parade. Based on a true story, a Brooklyn-raised Jewish outsider (Leo Frank) is wrongfully accused and convicted of murdering a young girl. The inspirational musical follows both this miscarriage of justice and the beautiful love story between Frank and his loyal wife, Lucille. The actual 1913 trial of Leo Frank raised issues of anti-Semitism and social justice in early 20th century America, ultimately leading to the founding of the Anti-Defamation League.
Melody Dougherty returns to direct this inspiring piece after her wildly successful production of Godspell here last spring. She is joined again by the talented production team of Richard Lewis (Music Director), Cindy Mack (Stage Manager) and Chloe Sierka (Choreographer).
Parade begins on Friday June 1st and runs weekends through June 16th. Friday and Saturday evening performances begin at 8pm. Matinees will be offered both Saturday and Sunday afternoons at 2pm. Tickets are available online for just $18 (advance purchase is not required but recommended to avoid disappointment) with discounts available for children 12 & under and groups of 10 or more. Season subscriptions are now also available for our upcoming 90th Anniversary Season. Order online at www.footlighterstheater.com or visit our box office prior to performances. Doors open 30 minutes before showtime.
