Philadelphia Actress Shines in Disney's "Aladdin Jr."

Melina Cruz of Philadelphia plays the Genie in the Walnut Street Theatre's production of Aladdin Jr.

Shining, shimmering, splendid! A young actress from Philadelphia stars as the joyous Genie in the Walnut Street Theatre’s production of Disney’s ALADDIN JR, beginning September 22nd through September 30th.


Based on the timeless animated film and hit Broadway show, Disney’s ALADDIN JR. is filled with magic and thrills the whole family will enjoy. When street urchin Aladdin falls for the strong-willed Princess Jasmine, he gets help from a fun-loving Genie to outsmart the wicked Jafar and win her hand. Get on your flying carpet and join us on a soaring musical adventure!

Melina Cruz takes the stage in ALADDIN JR. hoping to share her talents and inspire others. In addition to the Walnut Theatre School, Cruz studies at Calvary Christian Academy as a freshman with additional training from vocal coach John Nicholas Peters.
