The Philadephia Museum Of Art Will Reopen Sept 6
There will be increased safety measures, such as limits on capacity and temperature checks, when the museum reopens to the public Sept. 6.

PHILADELPHIA — After closing for about six months back in March, the Philadelphia Museum of Art will reopen in early September.
The museum announced it will reopen to the public on Sunday, Sept. 6. The museum will open for members only on Thursday, Sept. 3, Friday, Sept. 4, and Saturday, Sept. 5.
Admission will be pay what you wish on opening day.

Hours for the museum are noon to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays (with pay what you want admission form 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.); 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays; noon to 7:30 p.m. Fridays; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. The museum will be closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
Visitors are strongly advised to reserve admission tickets in advance online, beginning Monday, Aug. 17.

These dates are subject to change in the event of any government directives or advisories related to the pandemic.
The main building will be accessible only via the North Entrance, facing Kelly Drive. The East and West entrances will be closed initially.
Safety measures such as reduced visitor capacity, timed admission, temperatures checks, and mask requirements, increased cleaning, installation of hand sanitizer stations, and more will be implemented.
Three galleries — Dorrance Special Exhibition Galleries; gallery 361, which is a room from an early 17th century Dutch brewery; and gallery 283, which houses Marcel Duchamp’s "Etant donnes" — will be closed.
The Rodin Museum will also open Sept. 6. Its hours will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday through Monday and will be closed Wednesdays and Thursdays.
